asked the Minister of Labour the number of wholly unemployed and temporarily stopped in the city of Liverpool at the nearest date to 24th August, and also at the present time?

Mr. HUDSON

At 24th August, 1931, there were on the registers of Employment Exchanges in Liverpool, 72,709 persons wholly unemployed (including casuals) and 2,347 temporarily stopped. The corresponding figures for 9th November, 1931, were 77,646 and 1,516, respectively.
