§ Sir S. HOAREI presume that the hon. Member is referring to recent events at Nasik, accounts of which have appeared in the Press. I have no official information of these incidents, but I have no doubt that the persons arrested had disobeyed orders lawfully issued to them 478 in the interests of public peace, and there is no reason to suppose that any partiality was shown in making the arrests.
