HC Deb 12 November 1931 vol 259 cc260-1
38. Lieut.-Colonel HENEAGE

asked the Secretary for Mines if his attention has been called to the failure of the coal-quota scheme in the port of Immingham; if he is a ware that the ship gangs are idle for a week or more in each month owing to the quota being exhausted; that ships are held up and contracts are diffi- cult to make; and if he will say what steps he is taking to remedy the situation?

The SECRETARY for MINES (Mr. Isaac Foot)

I am making inquiries of the Midland Amalgamated District Executive Board with regard to the points to which my hon. and gallant Friend calls attention, and I will communicate the results of those inquiries to him as soon as possible.
