HC Deb 21 May 1931 vol 252 cc2197-8
55. Captain CROOKSHANK

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether it is intended to introduce, during the present Session, any legislation to amend the Merchant Shipping Acts?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. William Graham)

A Bill to give effect to the Safety of Life at Sea and Load Line Conventions has been introduced in another place. It is not intended to introduce any further legislation to amend the Merchant Shipping Acts during the present Session.

Captain CROOKSHANK

May I take it that nothing will prevent the presentation of clean bills of lading before the great white Throne?
