HC Deb 21 May 1931 vol 252 c2180
62. Sir W. BRASS

asked the Minister of Transport whether he has any information to give to the House as to the sound film taken of himself demonstrating dangerous practices on the road; what the film cost; and whether any payment was made out of public funds for its production or for showing it at the picture houses?

Mr. PARKINSON

I assume that the hon. and gallant Member refers to a sound film which was recently made with the object of drawing attention to some of the provisions of the Highway Code. This film was made by British Movietone News, Limited, at the request of the National Safety First Association and was included in their weekly news film. No charge on public funds was involved.

Sir W. BRASS

Will the hon. Gentleman arrange for this film to be shown to Members of Parliament?

Mr. PARKINSON

I will suggest that to my right hon. Friend.
