HC Deb 19 May 1931 vol 252 cc1778-9
68. Mr. REID

asked the Secretary of State for India whether the transfrontier operations for the protection of Peshawar and its neighbourhood, which took place from 14th October, 1930, to 24th March, 1931, will be recognised as active service; and whether the troops engaged therein will be entitled to a general service medal, seeing that the British and Indian troops so employed suffered hardships and appreciable casualties in these operations?

Mr. WILLIAM WHITELEY

My right hon. Friend is sending the hon. Member copies of the replies given to the hon. and gallant Member for Wycombe (Sir A. Knox) on the 6th and 18th May, which explain the position.
