HC Deb 19 May 1931 vol 252 c1757
13. Commander SOUTH BY

asked the President of the Board of Trade when the committee now inquiring into the question of the efficiency and adequacy of the coastguard service will be in a position to issue a report?

Mr. W. GRAHAM

I am informed that the committee have made considerable progress and are approaching the completion of their investigations. It is hoped that their report may be made within the next two months.

Mr. WILLIAM BENNETT

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether the work of the committee includes an inquiry into the working conditions of a lighthouse keeper?

Mr. GRAHAM

I shall require notice of that question. At the time of the appointment I indicated that the committee was to inquire into the whole organisation of the coastguard service and matters relevant thereto.
