HC Deb 14 May 1931 vol 252 cc1366-7
72. Mr. GRANVILLE

asked the Minister of Agriculture if the Anglo-Dutch group of sugar-beet factories are now offering terms of contract which "re acceptable to growers of sugar-beet?

Mr. PALING (Lord of the Treasury)

I have been asked to reply. My right hon. Friend understands that the Anglo-Dutch group of beet-sugar factories has made no change in the terms of its offer for beet contracts.

Mr. GRANVILLE

In view of the hardship existing among farmers and smallholders will the hon. Member make representations to his right hon. Friend to make further inquiries to see whether some satisfactory settlement can be made?

Mr. PALING

I will convey the hon. Member's desire to my right hon. Friend.
