§ 9. Mr. SMITHERSasked the Minister of Labour whether her attention has been called to the annual report of the Newcastle Public Assistance Committee; and whether she will bring this report to the notice of the Royal Commission on Un-employment?
§ Miss BONDFIELDI have not seen this report. If it concerns the Royal Commission on Unemployment Insurance, I presume the public assistance committee will send it to them.
§ Mr. SMITHERSIn view of the fact that the report contained evidence of some abuses—it may be legal abuses—will the right hon. Lady see that this and similar reports are brought to the notice of the Royal Commission?
§ Miss BONDFIELDI do not quite understand how that can be put in evidence.
§ Mr. LAWTHERIs it not a fact that these people have already given evidence before the Royal Commission?
§ Miss BONDFIELDI believe that is so.
