41. Mr. SORENSEN

asked the Minister of Health the number of houses built during 1929 and 1930 by district councils in Middlesex, Kent, and Essex, respectively?

Mr. GREENWOOD

The numbers are 4,399, 2,870 and 3,242 respectively.

42. Mr. SORENSEN

asked the Minister of Health if he will state the number of houses proposed to be built by district councils in Middlesex, Kent, and Essex for the next five years?

Mr. GREENWOOD

So far as regards urban authorities over 20,000 population who have submitted programmes to me in pursuance of Section 25 of the Housing Act, 1930, the numbers are 7,427, 5,029 and 4,184 for the three counties named.

Mr. SORENSEN

Is the right hon. Gentleman satisfied that these authorities are progressing satisfactorily to the standard he desires?

Mr. GREENWOOD

No, I am not, except that they are an improvement on the immediate past year.
