HC Deb 14 May 1931 vol 252 c1372
85. Commander BELLAIRS

asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department when, if the export credits were withdrawn from Russia at this moment, the liabilities of the country would fall below £100,000 or some approximate amount?

Mr. GILLETT (Secretary, Overseas Trade Department)

I regret that it is impossible to give this information, as the guarantees given by the Export Credits Guarantee Department become operative only when the goods are exported.
