HC Deb 13 May 1931 vol 252 cc1187-8
50. Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

asked the Secretary of State for India whether it is intended to establish a training college in India for Indian officers for the proposed Royal Indian Air Force; and when it is expected that this college will be in being?

Mr. BENN

These matters will have to be considered in the first instance by the committee which is to work out the details for the establishment of a training college for the defence services in India.

Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

Did not my right hon. Friend tell me on Monday that he was proceeding with the formation of this Indian Air Force, and will not a college, therefore, be necessary?

Mr. BENN

That is a different question. We are proceeding with the formation of the Air Force; the question of a college will come under consideration, as I have indicated.
