HC Deb 13 May 1931 vol 252 cc1178-9
29. Mr. L. SMITH

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether, in view of the results of the two experimental flights carrying air mails to Australia, it is proposed to establish a regular service?

Mr. MONTAGUE

I cannot at present say more than that the establishment of a regular air service beyond India is under consideration by the Governments concerned.

Mr. SMITH

Is the hon. Member fully satisfied with the progress made on this subject during the last 12 months?

Mr. MONTAGUE

I am never fully satisfied with any progress.

Captain Sir WILLIAM BRASS

May we assume that if the experimental flight is not successful, the Air Ministry will not be deterred by that?
