HC Deb 12 May 1931 vol 252 c970
26. Commander SOUTHBY

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will consider the introduction of a marking Order for Empire-grown tea, in order that the public may know whether they are buying a British or foreign article?

Mr. W. GRAHAM

An application for the marking of imported tea was considered by one of the Standing Committees under the Merchandise Marks Act, 1926. Their report, of which I am forwarding a copy to the hon. and gallant Member, was not in favour of a compulsory marking Order.
