Mr. A. HENDERSONThese refugees went ashore voluntarily at Funchal on the 7th of May, an assurance having been 806 given to His Majesty's Government by the Portuguese Government that their lives would be spared. His Majesty's Ship "Curlew" left next day.

Mr. HENDERSONNo, I am afraid I cannot, but, if the hon. and gallant Member is very anxious to know about the expenses and will put down a question, I will inquire.
