§ 74. Mr. EDEasked the Minister of Agriculture what decision he has arrived at with regard to the application from the town council of Richmond, Surrey, for his consent, under Section 8 of the 560 Allotments Act, 1925, to the appropriation for building purposes of certain land purchased by the council for allotments and known as the Manor Road allotments?
§ Dr. ADDISONAfter careful consideration of all the circumstances, I decided not to consent to the council's application.
§ 75. Sir N. GRATTAN-DOYLEasked the Minister of Agriculture how many applications for allotments under his special scheme for the unemployed have been received in Newcastle-on-Tyne; and how many have been granted?
§ Dr. ADDISONI have ascertained that the town council of Newcastle-on-Tyne have received 73 applications for allotments, but that none have so far been granted, owing to the difficulty in obtaining suitable land. I am glad to say, however, that the Central Allotments Committee has been the means of supplying seeds at reduced prices to 219 unemployed persons who already had allotments.
§ Sir N. GRATTAN-DOYLEWill the right hon. Gentleman see that steps are taken to provide the facilities which are necessary to meet these requirements?
§ Dr. ADDISONI cannot say without notice.
