asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies what has been the response of the Colonial Office to the request by Jamaica for the suspension of that Colony's annual payment to Great Britain's war debt?

In view of the existing crisis in the sugar industry, His Majesty's Government have agreed to the suspension for the year 1931–32 of the annual War contribution of £60,000 paid by Jamaica.
