HC Deb 05 May 1931 vol 252 cc186-7
14. Sir K. WOOD

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs if he is now able to state if all the Dominions will be represented at the forthcoming Imperial Economic Conference; and if he can make any further announcement concerning the arrangements of the conference?

The SECRETARY of STATE for DOMINION AFFAIRS (Mr. J. H. Thomas)

I am not yet in a position to add anything to the answer which I gave on 14th April to questions by the hon. Members for Chislehurst (Mr. Smithers) and Willesden East (Mr. D. G. Somerville).

Sir K. WOOD

Can the right hon. Gentleman indicate when he hopes to be able to give a further reply?

Mr. THOMAS

No, because it is a matter in which the Canadian Government are concerned, and it is not for me to press them because a question has been asked in this House.

Sir K. WOOD

I should like to ask the right hon. Gentleman to reply to the first part of the question, as to whether he is now able to state if all the Dominions will be represented at the forthcoming Imperial Economic Conference?

Mr. THOMAS

As I say, the whole question will be considered, including representation, when a definite date has been agreed upon.
