HC Deb 17 March 1931 vol 249 cc1852-3
68. Sir NICHOLAS GRATTAN - DOYLE

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he can give particulars of the new tariff changes in Canada; and whether he will seize the opportunity to open negotiations for a treaty of commercial reciprocity with the Dominions?

Mr. W. GRAHAM

I have received no details of the proposals for tariff modifications which I understand will shortly be laid before the Canadian Parliament. As regards the second part of the question, it is the intention to examine fully at the proposed Economic Conference at Ottawa the various means by which inter-Imperial trade may best be maintained and extended.
