HC Deb 09 March 1931 vol 249 cc801-2
60. Mr. CULVERWELL

asked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that, owing to the rearrangement of underground work in connection with the Bristol automatic scheme, there will be a delay of at least 12 months before resi- dents at Sea Mills can be given any precise information as to when the telephone service can be supplied to them; and whether he will take steps to hasten their connection with the service?

The POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Mr. Attlee)

As was stated in the reply to the previous question on the 2nd March, it is hoped that the new cables necessary in the Bristol area, including Sea Mills, will be completed about six weeks' hence, and that service will be made available shortly after for persons on the waiting list. I regret that the information given locally to certain applicants was incorrect.
