asked the First Commissioner of Works the various hutment estates that have been sold by his Department since 1926; whether, in each case, the estates were sold subject to the existing tenancies and the rights and claims of the tenants then in occupation; and whether during the period of ownership of his Department any hutments were claimed for possession under the powers of the Rent Restriction Acts?

Following is the reply:

The following estates have been sold since 1926:

and sections of several estates at Woolwich, namely: The houses in each case were sold subject to the tenancy agreements and the rights of the tenants. Where necessary actions have been brought in the County Court against tenants in arrear whose tenancies were protected by the Rent Restrictions Acts.
