HC Deb 09 March 1931 vol 249 cc785-6
38. Mr. DOUGLAS HACKING

asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department whether a committee has yet been appointed, in pursuance of the recommendation in the Chelmsford Report, to consider the question of the acquisition of a site and the erection of buildings in which the British Industries Fair may be held in future years?

Mr. W. R. SMITH

An unforeseen delay has occurred in settling the constitution and terms of reference for the Committee, but it is hoped that it will be possible to issue invitations to serve on the Committee before long.

Mr. HACKING

When will it be convenient to the hon. Gentleman for me to put down a further question on this subject?

Mr. SMITH

Possibly in a week's time I might have some information; I am not certain.
