HC Deb 29 June 1931 vol 254 c875
28. Mr. DENMAN

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether any steps have yet been taken to constitute catchment boards under the Land Drainage Act, 1930, for the areas of the Waver and Wampool Rivers and of the River Derwent, in the county of Cumberland; and whether, in view of the drainage requirements of these districts and of the need for providing employment, the appointment of these boards can now be expedited?

Dr. ADDISON

The surveys necessary for the purpose of determining the boundaries of the two catchment areas referred to by the hon. Member have now been completed, and a map of the area, together with a draft of an Order constituting the catchment board in each case, will be deposited early in July at some convenient centre in the respective areas, for public inspection.
