HC Deb 29 June 1931 vol 254 cc882-3
42. Mr. GOULD

asked the Minister of Health to what extent the rate-aided section of the 1924 Housing Act has operated in the rural housing of Somerset?

Miss LAWRENCE

The total number of houses built by rural district councils in the County of Somerset up to the 31st May last under the Housing (Financial Provisions) Act, 1924, is 2,316.

Mr. GOULD

I desire to know how many were operating that part of the rating Section of the Act, whereby they subsidise housing from the local rates. Could the hon. Member kindly give an answer to that point?

Miss LAWRENCE

As I have said, we had some difficulty in understanding the question. Perhaps the hon. Member will speak to me later on.
