HC Deb 23 June 1931 vol 254 cc211-2
23. Mr. DAY

asked the Secretary of State for War the number of persons who attended the Aldershot Tattoo (1931) as visitors, and the amount of money taken in admissions or for car park reservations?

Mr. SHAW

The approximate number of persons who attended the Aldershot Tattoo, including the night rehearsal, was 322,000, and the approximate amount received from admissions and from the car park was £64,000.

Mr. DAY

Is this an increase on the previous year?

Mr. SHAW

I think it is a considerable increase, but I would not vouch for the figures, not having the figures for last year in my possession.
