HC Deb 17 June 1931 vol 253 c1742
59. Mr. JOHN

asked the Secretary for Mines whether the Government have now completed the detailed examination as to the possibilities and potentialities of British coal as a source of production of motor fuel and other oils and by-products; and is he now able to submit definite proposals to the House of Commons?

I regret that I have nothing to add to the answers which have recently been given on this subject, the last of which was given on 21st May in reply to a question by my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Central Hull (Lieut.-Commander Kenworthy).

How much longer will the Minister wander along before submitting definite proposals?
