HC Deb 17 June 1931 vol 253 c1715
1. Mr. DAY

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can give particulars of the progress that has been made with reference to the new buildings of the League of Nations?

The SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Arthur Henderson)

Steady progress is being made with the work on the new League of Nations building. If my hon. Friend desires further details, I will send him a copy of the report issued last month by the Building Committee to the Secretary-General of the League of Nations.

Mr. DAY

Can my right hon. Friend say whether the architect has submitted final plans?

Mr. HENDERSON

I believe so. The building is proceeding, and I suppose it is proceeding according to the plans.

Colonal HOWARD-BURY

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether any of the contracts have been given to any British firm?

Mr. HENDERSON

I think I must have notice of that question.
