§ Miss BONDFIELDI regret that this figure cannot be given. As the Noble Lady knows, the employment provided for women by means of these schemes is chiefly indirect and statistics with regard to it are not available. There is no doubt that the grants which have been made have resulted in increased employment for women in the lighter occupations in the engineering and electrical trades and in the light metal trade.
