HC Deb 30 July 1931 vol 255 cc2438-9
24. Sir NICHOLAS G RATTAN -DOYLE

asked the Home Secretary the present position of the inquiry into charges of bribery against members of the Metropolitan Police Force; and why decisions have not yet been reached?

Mr. CLYNES

I am informed by the Commissioner of Police that the inquiry is still proceeding and is likely to take a considerable time for the reason that there are a large number of cases and many witnesses to be heard. Every endeavour is being made to press it to a conclusion.
