HC Deb 22 July 1931 vol 255 c1480
38. Mr. GRANVILLE GIBSON

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will give the values of the total exports of manufactured goods to and imports from the United States of America for each year 1926 to 1930, inclusive, and also for the six months ended June, 1931?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. W. R. Smith)

I will circulate the information in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Mr. GIBSON

Do the figures indicate an increase in the ratio of our imports to exports?

Mr. SMITH

As they cover a period of years, the hon. Member had better see the figures when published.

Following is the information:

The following table shows the total declared value of goods classed as "wholly or mainly manufactured" imported into and exported from the United Kingdom during each of the years 1926 to 1930, and the six months ending June, 1931, consigned from and to the United States of America.

Mr. W. R. SMITH

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to the question on this subject asked by the hon. Member for Shipley (Mr. Lockwood) on the 16th June.
