§ 5. Mr. MATHERS
asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has received the report of the Scottish Advisory Committee on Rivers Pollution Prevention concerning the condition of the River Esk, Midlothian; and, if so, what action he proposes to take?
§ The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for SCOTLAND (Mr. Westwood)
The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the 1219 latter part, a meeting is to be held in Edinburgh on Tuesday, the 4th August, when I shall discuss the report with representatives of local authorities in Midlothian in order that consideration may be given to the steps that should be taken to purify the river.
