2. Brigadier-General BROWNasked the Secretary of State for India whether the Indian Sandhurst Committee report has been published; and whether it will be available for Members of this House?
§ 3. Mr. DAYasked the Secretary of State for India what are the terms of reference to the committee appointed recently to inquire into the Indianisation of the Indian army; and can he say when the report of the committee may be expected?
§ 8. Major-General Sir ALFRED KNOXasked the Secretary of State for India whether it is the intention of the Government of India to publish the report of the India Sandhurst Committee; and when copies will be available?
§ Mr. BENNThe report has only just been completed, and I have not yet received a copy, so I cannot at the moment give a date for publication. The terms of reference were:
To work out the details of the establishment of a College in India to train candidates for commissions in all arms of the Indian Defence Services.
§ Sir A. KNOXIs it going to be published in India, like the Cawnpore report?
§ Mr. BENNYes. It has only just been completed, and it is rather premature to make any definite pledge, but there is no reason to withhold any of the material findings.
