§ Mr. BROCKWAYIn view of the long period that this matter has been under consideration, and the desperate condition of the industry, can the right hon. Gentleman give us any indication when the Government plans will be announced?
§ Mr. GRAHAMI have promised a full statement on the Board of Trade Vote with regard to all the steps that have been taken up to this stage, but I must remind my hon. Friend that the Government have no compulsory powers and cannot impose anything on this industry in the existing conditions.
§ Mr. BROCKWAYIn view of the condition of the industry, cannot the Government ask the House to give them compulsory powers?
