HC Deb 13 July 1931 vol 255 cc12-3
19. Mr. DAY

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has any information as to the military position in Northern China; and whether, up to now, there has been any effective disbandment in the various military forces?

The SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Arthur Henderson)

Since the civil war ended nine months ago, the general military situation in North China has been quiet. It does not appear that disbandment has yet made much progress.

Mr. DAY

Has my right hon. Friend received reports of any other hostilities going on in North China?

Mr. HENDERSON

No, I have not.
