HC Deb 13 July 1931 vol 255 c15
21. Brigadier-General CLIFTON BROWN

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will state what is the country from whence the arms recently imported through India to Afghanistan came; and of what do these imported munitions of war consist?

Mr. A. HENDERSON

No, Sir. His Majesty's Government are not concerned with purchases which the Afghan Government may make in foreign countries, except as regards transit through India, which is covered by the terms of the Anglo-Afghan Treaty of 1921, I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to Article 6 and the Appendix of that Treaty which has been presented to Parliament.
