HC Deb 09 July 1931 vol 254 cc2275-6
63. Commander SOUTHBY (for Mr. ALBERY)

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury what public expenditure has already been incurred on account of the taxation of land proposals in the present Finance Bill?

Mr. PETHICK - LAWRENCE

The expenditure incurred on the Inland Revenue Vote does not as yet exceed £100. Stationery and printing orders have been placed by the Stationery Office to the extent of about £3,400. In addition, certain commitments are in process of being entered into by the Office of Works in respect of office accommodation, etc.

Captain CROOKSHANK

Will this require a Supplementary Estimate?

Mr. PETHICK-LAWRENCE

Very likely it will, but I am not quite sure at the present time.
