HC Deb 09 July 1931 vol 254 c2242
15. Mr. COCKS

asked the Minister of Labour what would be the actuarial position of the unemployment insurance scheme on the present level of employment if there were brought into the scheme everyone normally employed in some occupation whose earnings do not exceed £500 a year?

Miss BONDFIELD

As there are no means of ascertaining the present rate of unemployment among persons at present outside the unemployment insurance scheme whose earnings do not exceed £500 a year, it is not possible to estimate the actuarial effect of their inclusion in the scheme.
