§ Mr. McSHANEOn a point of Order. I wished to move a manuscript Amendment, according to the Standing Order, which says that the handing in of a manuscript Amendment is in order on consideration of Lords Amendments. Not only did I give the paper to you, but I rose immediately the Clerk said: "Page 11, line 4." What can one do in order to get one's point in?
§ Mr. SPEAKERThe hon. Member is quite right when he says that a manuscript Amendment is in Order, but it does not follow that the Chair always takes it. I must have some regard to the business of the House, especially when Amendments are handed in at a time when it is impossible for me to consider them. The hon. Member should have given the Amendment in earlier.
Remaining Lords Amendments agreed to.
§ The remaining Orders were read, and postponed.
§ It being after half-past Eleven of the Clock, Mr. SPKAKER adjourned the House, without Question put, pursuant to the Standing Order.
§ Adjourned at Nine Minutes before Twelve o'Clock.
