HC Deb 07 July 1931 vol 254 c1895
6. Sir N. GRATTAN-DOYLE

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether he has any information as to the causes and probable economic effect of the Canadian crop failure?

Mr. THOMAS

I am sure that the House generally will greatly regret that the recent drought is expected to have so serious an effect on the crop prospects in the Prairie Provinces of Canada. As to the position generally, L can only refer the hon. Member to the statement made by the Prime Minister of Canada in the Canadian House of Commons on the 1st July, an account of which has appeared in the Press.
