HC Deb 02 July 1931 vol 254 cc1438-9
30. Mr. HICKS

asked the Minister of Labour whether she has considered the representations made to her Department concerning evasions of the principle of the Fail Wages Resolution of the House of Commons, the difficulty of securing the enforcement of the principle, and the general inapplicability of the terms of the Resolution to the developments of modern industry; and whether the Government will consider the advisability of proposing a new Fair Wages Resolution for acceptance by the House, the terms of which shall be more applicable to the customs and practices of modern industry?

Miss BONDFIELD

This matter is receiving careful examination by the various Departments concerned.

Mr. HICKS

May I ask when she will be able to answer?

Miss BONDFIELD

I hope before very long.
