§ Mr. LEES-SMITHIn the great majority of cases in which applications have been received from grant-earning schools for the appointment of French or German assistants for the coming year, it has been possible to grant the application. No rules are laid down for deciding in what cases applications shall be approved, but all the relevant circumstances are taken into account.
