HC Deb 01 July 1931 vol 254 c1251
4. Colonel HOWARD-BURY

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether any further communications have taken place with the French Government regarding the Dead Sea concession which was given to Mr. Moses Novamesky; and what is the present position of the negotiations?

Mr. DALTON

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. A further note from the French Government has recently been received and is now being examined.

Colonel HOWARD-BURY

Can the hon. Member yet say whether this matter is going to be taken to the Hague? Has not the condition of affairs rather changed since the original note?

Mr. DALTON

His Majesty's Government made an offer in July of last year to take the question to the Hague, but that offer has up to date not been accepted by the French Government.
