asked the Prime Minister whether he proposes to take the opinion of the House on the report of the Select Committee on Capital Punishment; and, if not, what steps he will recommend the House to take with a view to amending the law in that connection?

Mr. CLYNES

I have been asked to reply. The Government do not propose at present to take any action concerning the report of the Select Committee, and I regret that I cannot add anything to the reply I gave to a question by the hon. Member for East Willesden (Mr. D. G. Somerville) on the 20th instant.
