asked the First Lord of the Admiralty what are the names of the battleships, cruisers, flotilla leaders, and destroyers now paid off for refit; the names of those paid off and awaiting sale or preparing for sale; and the number of ships in each class, respectively, now in full or reserve commission?

Following is the answer:

Paid off for refit:— Battleship and Battle Cruiser: Barham" and "Hood. Cruisers: Ceres," "Colombo," "Durban," "Cardiff" and "Cairo. Flotilla Leader: "Campbell." Destroyers: Vendetta," "Westeott," "Wish-Art," "Velox," "Vivacious," "Valhalla," "Ambuscade," "Veteran. Paid off and awaiting sale or preparing for sale:— Battleships: Benbow," "Emperor of India. Cruiser: Birmingham. Destroyers: Seabear," "Teazer," "Tilbury," "Seawolf," "Shark," "Sparrow-hawk. In full or reserve commission: 13 Battleships. 3 Battle Cruisers. 50 Cruisers. 15 Flotilla Leaders. 136 Destroyers.
