HC Deb 28 January 1931 vol 247 cc964-5
45. Mr. MANDER

asked the Prime Minister if he is able to state when the Motion will be taken in the House for accession to the general act of arbitration and conciliation and judicial settlement?

The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Ramsay MacDonald)

I hope that it will be possible to find time before Easter, but I am not yet in a position to name a date or to make a binding promise.

Mr. MANDER

In view of the fact that the whole of the British Empire is united on this question, and there is practically no opposition, will the Prime Minister take it as early as possible?

The PRIME MINISTER

As early as I possibly can. If the unity of feeling will express itself and is complete, I will take it at once.

Mr. O'CONNOR

If the Liberal party clear away the Trade Disputes Bill today, would there not be more time?
