§ 30. Mr. HANNONasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is now in a position to state the provisions of the new Chinese trade-mark law as affecting British trade-mark rights; and when the translation of the law will be made available
§ Mr. W. GRAHAMThe question of the effect of the Chinese trade-mark law of 1930 upon British trade-mark rights in China is still under discussion with the Chinese authorities. An official English translation of the law is not available but the translation of the law as published in the Journal of the British Chamber of Commerce at Shanghai for July, 1930, has been placed in the public library of the Patent Office, and I am sending the hon. Member a copy of this translation.
§ Mr. HANNONIn the meantime, is the right hon. Gentleman doing everything he can to safeguard the rights of British merchants in this matter?
§ Mr. GRAHAMYes, and, if the hon. Member will look at the translation think it will throw light on the matter.
