HC Deb 22 January 1931 vol 247 c340
14. Mr. WHITE

asked the Minister of Labour the present position of the proposals with regard to the establishment of a trade board for the catering trade?

Miss BONDFIELD

A public inquiry into objections made to the draft Special Order applying the Trade Boards Acts to the catering trade was held by Sir Arthur Colefax from 24th November to 8th December last. The Report of the Inquiry was published on 16th January. On 17th December some of the objectors at the Public Inquiry obtained Rules Nisi in the High Court calling upon me to show cause why on certain legal grounds I should not be prohibited from making the Special Order. I cannot take any further action until the Rules have been dealt with by the Courts.
