asked the Minister of Labour what remuneration was paid to the chairmen of courts of referees under the Unemployment Insurance Acts during the calendar year 1930?

The total remuneration paid to chairmen of courts of referees under the Unemployment Insurance Acts, during the calendar year 1930, was £91,330.

Mr. BLINDELL

Does the right hon. Lady not think that £91,000 is an excessive amount to pay for the services rendered by these chairmen, and—
