§ Mr. HERBERT MORRISONI am informed by the London and North Eastern Railway Company that they are not yet in a position to report any decision with regard to the construction of a tube railway from Liverpool Street to Ilford.
§ Colonel ASHLEYWill the Government give any assistance to this scheme?
§ Mr. MORRISONI cannot say until the railway company make application.
§ Colonel ASHLEYWould the right hon. Gentleman consider it?
§ Mr. MORRISONCertainly. We consider everything.
Sir GEORGE HAMILTONIs the right hon. Gentleman really bringing any pressure to bear on this railway company to come to a prompt decision; and is he aware that people who have to travel from Ilford to Liverpool Street are impossibly crowded at the present moment?
§ Mr. MORRISONI am quite aware of that fact.
