HC Deb 25 February 1931 vol 248 cc2103-4
5. Mr. MANDER

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will state the present position with regard to the League of Nations' inquiry into the causes of the world economic crisis; and when a report is expected?

Mr. DALTON

My right hon. Friend understands that a considerable amount of material has already been collected, and a meeting of economic experts, in connection with this inquiry, has been summoned for 2nd March at Geneva. It is impossible to say at present when the report will be forthcoming, but the United Kingdom delegation at the recent Assembly of the League emphasised the urgency and importance of this inquiry and expressed the hope that the report would be completed before the next Assembly.
